Implement Google Voice and Web 2.0 for Maximum Efficiency with Learning Management Systems

The learning management system can augment the course content and develop the learning potentiality by implementing web 2.0 tools and speech technologies. The web 2.0 tools are available worldwide and by effective communication, these tools can assist in making the learning more useful as well as appealing.

Learn about the speech technology added to a learning management system.

The schools and companies using a learning management system have to experience various problems by incorporating web 2.0 tools and speech technologies in their course software.. Though this tool provides assistance to the training and educational courses, but quite often there are distractions which affect the effective functioning of this tool.

In the online learning software, companies and schools are adding more number of tools such as, VoIP technology (Skype et al), wikis, discussion boards, podcasts and blogs and social networks.

The inclusion or web 2.0 is an added advantage for improving communication between the new employees and students. On the other hand, advertisements create diversions, especially on schools. When you are selecting web 2.0 tools for your online course, pick the one that values you. Some advertisements used on MySpace show destructive factors of several social networking and other sites. On MySpace, while signing up, for instance, it is difficult to see the login box due to constant interrupting ads. But some sites, for example, Google and Facebook give approval for only those advertisements which are less distracting.

Many debate that due to existing financial requirements, such ads are given permission. Nevertheless, hardly anyone does it. Organizations such as, Google encourage ideas which upholds user’s self-esteem and resourcefulness without utilizing conspicuous and unnecessary ads. In whatever way does Facebook do this. Skillfully, it permits customers to decide on the kind of ads they feel necessary.

In Facebook “engagement ads” are used to provoke customers to give a speech on videos, participate in an event, or mail a virtual present. As an example, the preceding year on the day of voting , Ben & Jerry’s procured an ad that permits consumers to forward an online ice-cream cone to their buddies, promoting its proposal of a genuine cone to those people who participated in election. The creativity of social networking sites is the charitable pastime they encourage, and one such creative interest on Facebook is advertising.

Aside from diversions, most of the web 2.0 tools facilitate learning management system users to have a wonderful communicative and active learning experience.

An LMS provides a variety of learning activities for the employee and the student without paying for it. Whether online or in reality, most people prefer conversation to typing. An LMS can be associated with social networking programs to give scope to the employees to learn collectively online.

Two other interesting progressions to observe in detail are speech recognition programs and speech synthesis programs; for instance, text-to-speech (TTS). The TTS feature is considered to be more superior than speech recognition technologies, but new developments in speech recognition technologies such as, Google, looks promising. A well-organized TTS program is helpful in fulfilling the needs of learning management system users who do not have good vision. It is difficult to believe that it is possible for the students and users with bad eyesight to hear any passage from the online screen.

Now the important topic is Speech recognition along with Google’s new plan of joining Google Voice with Google Translate. Presume that in the world English is not essential for interaction between students and trainees. It is useful if you can communicate with people of other countries fluently which in turn will assist in the improvement of web 2.0 tools learning management systems and online studies, and also international teamwork.

How Much of Your Personal Information is Online?

How much personal information do you have online? Have you ever thought about that question? Do you ever search for your own name on the internet? How about the different variations of your name, have you googled them? Take this story that just happened to me as an example of how personal information and data can end up online without your knowledge or permission.

Today I received an email from, Google Alerts telling me that my name had popped up in a new web page. I get these often since I am on Twitter and I have my own **computer repair** blog so it was nothing unusual for me. However once I read the email, I had to check it out.

I wrote a letter of recommendation for a friend and thought that was the end of the story. Then I get the Google Alerts email and I had to see what it was talking about. Apparently the friend needed to convert the Microsoft Word file to an Adobe Acrobat file and used the website http://www.scribd.com to do so. No big deal, right? Well, the website made the letter public and Google had searched it and found my name. This is why I was alerted. So I called my friend to ask her about it and apparently her resume as well as 2 more letters of recommendation were also posted online as well. Thanks to Google Alerts, we were spared the embarrassment of having somebody else find it.

How much of your personal information is online? Have you ever Googled your own name? Do it, you might be surprised at what you find. And if I were you, I would set up alerts for the different variations of your name. That way, any time something new is added, you’ll know about it.

Setting up your alerts is easy. There is no need to create an account or log in.

1. Go to Google Alerts.

2. Enter the name or phrase that you want alerts for.

3. Choose comprehensive.

4. Enter your email address.

5. Click on “Create Alert”.

6. Google will automatically send an email to the address that you enter. You’ll need to open that email and click on the link under “Verify this Google Alert request”.

7. You’re done.

Keeping up to date with your information online is a great way to reduce embarrassment and the risk of credit fraud.

iPhone 4G To Be Out In May

For all those waiting for Apple iPhone 4G, here is some great news: iPhone 4G may come to market sometime in May. The guys at iphonehelp. in just did a post giving out details on launch of iPhone 4G and why Apple preponed the launch.

The reasons are simple- To keep ahead of other Smartphone those are to be brought out in the coming few months. A couple of of that are:

Google’s Android Operating System”.

Sometime in June Google will show up with its improved Android OS. Android may be new in the market, but it’s working pretty well. Now that Google Nexus is released, we are certain to get to see a lot of Android driven gadgets.

Nokia’s New Models:

Last year in 2009, Nokia had said that it will bring lots of innovative cell phone in 2010. So iPhone 4G may face competition with Nokia phones too.

Tablet PCs:

Also, this year we are certain to get to see many Tablet PCs- one from Apple itself(in fact Apple may be regarded the leader of Tablet PCs) . Apple sure knows how its Tablet(iSlate) and iPhone 4G vary and would win the users. But since little about other brand Tablets are known, iPhone 4G might not do so great in the market.

Other Smartphones:

In 2010 many brands may get added to the Smartphone manufacturers list. Few of those would be: Dell, Acer, Samsung etc. All these phone may overshadow Apple’s iPhone 4G. And which may result in reduced sales unlike the high number of iPhone 3GS sold last year. True that people are awaiting the release of iPhone 4G, but with these many Smartphone getting introduced to the public a lot may not notice the iPhone.

It then makes it obvious why Apple changed the iPhone’s release.

Google Chrome OS May Change The Web expereince

The year 2010 will witness a number of new gadgets- Apple Tablet, Google Nexus, Google Tablet to name a few. However one new addition which will|that could bring a lot of change in how people use the web will be the Google Chrome OS. Yes, first of its kind, Chrome OS will give a totally unique interface between the computer and the internet.

What Is Google Chrome OS?

If you still haven’t heard about Google Chrome OS, here’s brief review of what it’s expected to do and how with Chrome OS out in the market, web usage is going to change forever.

In the plainest of terms, Google Chrome OS will act both as your web browser and your operating system. That is all tools, applications etc are going to be saved on cloud and whenever you need any application you acquire it from the cloud, use it and then give it back to the cloud. That makes work a lot easier. Also, Google Chrome OS is going to be super fast. Unlike now, you will not have to wait long for your pc to boot and then wait for it to connect to the internet. This will all get processed in few seconds.

So that was Google Chrome OS in short.

The nice part of Chrome OS will be that it will be accessible by all unlike those fancy devices which cost a fortune. What’s more, a lot of functions will come in their upgraded version.

It’ll certainly be fun and most importantly convenient to use an Operating System of such a type. For clear insight you may watch a video talking about Google’s Chrome Operating System in simple terms and how it is different from our present Operating Systems. Google Chrome OS will truly go on to become best open source system.

Suhani

Google May Introduce Google Cell Phone

Google rarely goes out of news. And why not? After all Google has become an inseparable part of all techie’s lives. Sometimes it seems with Google applications not around all our work will come to a standstill. It sure will. Think of Gmail undergoing a crash. Or Google chat not working…or google docs getting stuck…I don’t know about yours, but my work surely will suffer a good amount of loss.

There has been a lot of guesses about what the Google cell phone is going to be like or will Google actually come out a cell phone of its own? Recent reports say Google, if at all ever launches a cell phone, will not come out with a regular cell phone. It may be a VOIP device with unlimited calling powered by Google Voice or some similar application.

Although Google has been saying No to such news, rumors still keep originating every now and then (may be because of the keen interest Google has been showing in the cell phone industry) . Also, a lot of people in the past have dismissed such rumors saying Google, being a brand of software applications, it is highly uncertain that it may get into the hardware area. Rather it will try to strengthen its position in software section itself. Even if something like that happens, it will not be a thorough move into Hardware, instead it may collaborate with cell phone manufacturing networks.

I may not be the right person to comment on this subject. You would perhaps listen from the experts who will give you a better insight into the Google cell phone news. You may have a look at this post More Rumors On The Google Phone, Data Only.

But until the cell phoneis actually out in the market every thing will remain rumour.
